How to play Tube Rush
You ride inside a hexagonal 3D tunnel. Each approaching ring has one open face. Rotate onto that face before the wall arrives. A closed face is a hit and costs a life. Consecutive gaps multiply. This is not Gap Drop’s flat falling wall, and not a 2D lane sidestep.
A hex you rotate inside
Tube Rush is a hex tunnel you rotate inside. Play it when you want a 3D gap that is a face, not a flat hole in a falling wall, and when Lane Switch’s three roads already feel solved.
One missing panel is the whole verb
The tunnel goes into the screen. Your craft is the cyan box on one of six faces. A missing panel is the open lane. A solid panel that reaches you is a hit. Speed steals time; it does not add weapons.
One rotation, then hold
You rotate once toward the next hole, hold, and let a closed face pass beside you. Extra spins that look busy usually land you on a wall.
Late, or past the hole
Name whether you were late, or you over-rotated past the hole. Next six rings, one rotation per ring. If you wanted a flat gap, that is Gap Drop.
If you wanted a flat falling gap
This is not Gap Drop and not Lane Switch. Gap Drop is one hole in a 2D falling wall. Lane Switch is three labeled roads. Tube Rush is a 3D hex you rotate inside.
Why a solid face is a hit, not a graze
A graze bonus on tube walls taught people to scrape panels and call it skill. A closed face is a hit. Combos pay for being on the open face. The hex is chunky so the missing panel reads at speed. We did not add a ship-upgrade tree.
Controls
You ride inside a hexagonal 3D tube. The tunnel moves toward you. Tap left or right, or press arrows / A D, to rotate one face. There is no jump. A closed face that reaches you is a hit. The open face is the only safe lane.
Scoring and lives
Each gap you pass scores, and consecutive gaps multiply. A closed face costs a life and resets the combo. Three lives. Later rings arrive faster. Combos are a streak, not a shop.
Habits that raise the ceiling
Look at the next open face, not the wall that is already beside you. Rotate once, then hold. Farming extra spins into a closed face is how a sitting ends.
Common mistakes
- Spinning every frame to feel busy
- Staring at your craft instead of the next hole
- Treating a near wall as a graze instead of a hit
A two-minute drill
Clear six rings while rotating at most once per ring. Count how many you still pass. The drill is early commit, not panic spinning.
A longer sitting: six rings, one rotation each
Rotate at most once per ring for six gaps. Count clears. That count is the skill. Combos will arrive if the face is chosen early. They will not arrive if you spin at the last meter and land on a wall. Set a timer; the hex can nag.
A closed face is a hit because a graze would teach scraping. If 3D motion is uncomfortable, pick a still puzzle. If you wanted a flat hole in a wall, Gap Drop is the cousin. This tunnel is for people who like naming a face and then stopping on a timer even if the chain was pretty.
Six rings, at most one rotation each. The Tube Rush guide is the early-commit article, including the motion note.
