How to play Ice Drift
Each move sends you sliding across ice until a wall or crate stops you. Pick up gems for points. Sliding into a hole costs a life. Plan the stop, not just the first step.
Controls
Swipe, tap a direction pad, or use arrow keys / WASD. You slide until a wall or crate stops you. You cannot step one cell on ice. Holes end the slide immediately.
Scoring and lives
Gems add points. Clearing a boardβs gems awards a bonus and a fresh rink. Sliding into a hole costs a life. Three lives. Extra slides after the gems are gone waste nothing but time.
Habits that raise the ceiling
Name the stopping cell before you swipe. Bounce ideas off crates: a crate is a brake, not scenery. Collect gems that sit on the stop, not gems that sit mid-slide unless the stop is safe.
Common mistakes
- Swiping toward a gem without checking the cell beyond it
- Treating holes as decorations instead of as slide terminators
- Clearing gems in a random order that traps you on an island
A two-minute drill
Clear one rink while saying the stop cell out loud before every slide. If you cannot name it, do not swipe.
